New addition to my lens family - the Canon 70-200mm 2.8L USM IS II

October 12, 2017

Weighing in at 3 pounds and 5 ounces, this baby is going to make all of my bokeh dreams come true. I stalked the UPS tracking all day on my phone and then Bauer and I greeted him eagerly as I received my new Canon 70-200mm 2.8L USM IS II, in layman's terms, the big daddy of lenses.

I can see it now. Sporting events and zoom capability, image stabilization for razor sharpness, and creamy, blurry backgrounds....

Not to mention, I can basically not have to worry about lifting weights. This lens combined with my Canon 6D is a weight of almost 6 pounds. Which isn't much--until you lift it in the air consistently for an hour!

So now my SBVA Snaps Photography lens family includes my 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 24-70 2.8, and 70-200 2.8. I am a very happy camper tonight. Now.....if only I had a 135 2.0.....
