4 places you'll want pictures of when your newborn arrives - Frisco Lifestyle Newborn Photograph

Do you remember Ryan and Jordan? She was ethereally gorgeous in her maternity photos this winter, and her son just arrived right after Christmas.

After baby Kasen arrived, we made plans for me to visit their home for a lifestyle newborn photography. For those of you who don't know much about lifestyle photography, you should check out the 5 reasons every family needs a lifestyle session.

But first let me explain a couple of things.

There are two types of newborn photography: posed and lifestyle.

For posed photography, I have clients come to my home studio where I have my large strobe lighting, baskets, wraps, props to create a piece of art.

And then there is lifestyle photography.

For lifestyle photography, I go to he clients' home and I take photos of the family interacting with the baby in the areas of their home. Pets are welcome, siblings are welcome, and it gives a sense of HOME.

I offer both types of photography to my clients, and you can see options on my page.

So that brings me back to the reason of this post!

Are you ready?

Here are 4 places to take pictures of when your newborn arrives:

1. The Nursery.

When I look at baby pictures of myself, I often find myself looking at the details of the room. The toys. The decorations with the baby's name. A sweet rocking horse in the corner and the baby blanket made by a grandmother.

It looks like the family dog is already guarding his little brother's room!

2. The Living Room(s)

This is the home where you brought your baby home. The room where you held them when they napped, spent time watching Netflix during moments of relaxation, and where you "lived". That's why they call it a living room.

3. The Bedroom

For most parents, the bedroom is the first place where your baby will sleep for those first few nights or months from the hospital. It's where you'll wake up for midnight feedings and snuggles.

4. Baby details

Okay, so this isn't as much of a place as it is what you want to preserve. Look at those tiny baby hands and feet. How they curl into you. How kissable their cheeks are.

Jordan and Ryan, I can't tell you how excited I am for you guys to be able to spend this precious time with Kasen. Thank you for inviting me into your home and for sharing some of these moments with me. I know when Kasen is older, he will treasure looking back at these pictures and his first days home with you.

All my best,

Sarah Beth
